Vintage 4mm round white faux pearls have a pearlized finish with a slight warm cast. Whether intentional or just the result of age, it gives a little extra depth to retro designs (great for when you're restringing old pieces and want something that blends in). There are tiny flakes of finish/pigment that have come off these plastic beads, but it appears to be just excess from around the holes.
