Nephrite Jade Square Cabochon, Diagonal Bevel 21mm 35.6-41.45 Carat Flat Back Stone

Nephrite jade square cabochons are beveled diagonally, giving it the look of a diamond inside a square (or vice versa). Semi-translucent pale olive green cabs have a flat top. These vintage stones from the 1990's or before were part of a large lot of salvaged semiprecious gems. The back side has some brittle (non-sticky) adhesive residue from where brass pads were attached, but it's not visible from the front of the stone. Although a bit too large and heavy for earrings, they'd make wonderful pendants or brooches!

Stones A and B match in length, width, base color and weight, but they are not perfect matches. Stone A has a smaller table (top) facet. Both stones are striated, but B's streaks are more numerous and well-defined.
