Rectangular Cabochon, Violet Dyed Agate 16x11mm

Rectangular cabochon is a slice of dyed agate with translucent bands of violet and off white. Flat stone measures approximately 16x11mm and is 3mm thick.  The top surface is smoothly polished and shiny, but the sides and back have been left matte.

Salvaged vintage stone from the 1990's or before was in a large lot of semiprecious gems and may have been used in a setting.  The bottom edge feels rough compared to the top, either from not being polished or being banged about in long-term storage and mixed with other stones.
