1.5” rectangular pendants measure a 1 1/2 inches (38.1mm) long and 3/4 inches (19.05mm) wide. These die cut pieces are genuine top grain leather, handmade by me from pieces of vegetable tanned Italian cowhide. Blank shapes are tooling leather approximately 1.5mm thick and bendable. Cut edges are unfinished and may have a bit of fuzz toward the underside that can be carefully trimmed with sharp scissors or filed with an emery board. A 2.5mm hole centered at one end makes it easy to add components, such as jump rings, dangles, and ear wires. Use them as layered components of bold earring dangles, make your own product tags, or embellish anything from a hat to a special greeting card.
Tooling leather is a bit stiffer than other leathers (it's used for belts and saddles), but it's the best choice for stamping, embossing, painting, and even dyeing. As these are made from a single thickness of natural cowhide, the front is smooth and the back is fuzzy. As leather is a natural product, there will be some variation in color within each lot. You may also see imperfections here and there (tool marks, scars, brands, etc.).
