Vintage 12x10mm Oval Foiled Lampwork Cabochons

12x10mm confetti glass cabochons are rare vintage NOS (new old stock), made by Cherry Brand artisans. Small, multicolor foiled lampwork stones have an opaque black base with flecks of green, blue, gold and pink. Oval stones have flat backs and 6mm domes. Each stone is a handmade work of art! Small lumps or bumps at the bottom edge of the glass cabochons are common. Your order includes 12 pieces, perfect for sparkling jewelry and crafts.

Artisans of Osaka's glass districts have been hand making glass since the 3rd century. Cherry Brand beads and stones were created only during the American occupation of Japan after World War II. The artisans belong to this collective from 1945-1952 were full-time rice farmers. They set up flameworking stations at their homes so that they could develop their glasswork skills. After their farming chores were done for the day, they worked into the night creating lovely treasures.
