Leopardskin Jasper Tetrahedral Gemstone Cabochon

Leopardskin jasper cabochon is a tetrahedron measuring approximately 24.5mm long and 8mm thick at the center point where the three triangular bevels meet. Each pinkish brown stone weighs approximately 15.25 carats.  Stone "A" has red highlights, fewer black patches, and the corners are sharper than Stone "B".  Stone "B" has blunt corners, more black highlights, and much less red than Stone "A".  See side-by-side photo for comparison (Stone "A" is on the right; Stone "B" is on the left).

Smoothly polished opaque stones are vintage salvage from the 1990's or before. They appear to be unused, with no scratches or adhesive residue on the back. The cut and polished edges are uneven in places with natural pits where there are leopard "spots".
