Vintage 14ss Foiled Chatons, 3.4mm Faceted Rhinestones, Foiled Sapphire Glass Gems (144)

Tiny vintage chatons are sapphire blue 14ss (3.4-3.5mm) rhinestones with pointed backs and gold foiling. They're made in the old style, by pressing molten glass into molds. Stones may have small bumps around the girdle, where the top and bottom mold plates met. They don't have the same sparkle or symmetry as modern, machine-cut stones and that's part of their charm. They're especially useful in repairing vintage or antique pieces where you want the replacements to blend into the design.
