Does your western shirt have boring buttons? Unleash your inner cowgirl with one of these vintage western-themed button covers! 1980's silver-tone button covers are non-magnetic, lightweight and easy to use. First, put on a shirt with buttons and button them up. (The collar button is a good choice, but it's up to you.) Open the hinge on the back compartment and slip the notched piece over a button. Click it closed, and you're ready to go!
All styles except for the concho have decorative tops of plated brass. Conchos are metallized plastic with plastic imitation gemstones. Back compartments are plated brass.
For use with flat, center-sewn buttons up to 5/8" (15mm) diameter. Do not use with shanked buttons or rivets, as the notched piece will not slide over them and/or the compartment will not close properly.
The hinged flat piece has a prong on each side that will be inside the back compartment to secure it when it's shut. The trick to closing it securely is to gently push the flat round piece slightly to one side as you close it, so that the first prong is against the interior rim. The second prong will the make that tell-tale click as the cover fully shuts.
You may wish to practice opening and shutting the cover a few times before you put on your shirt. The alternative is trying to align it when the shirt's on your body and your body was supposed to be out the door 15 minutes ago, making you do an impatient dance in front of the mirror to the amusement of the nearest household pet. Meanwhile, your human companion has whipped out their cellphone and posted a video of your antics on social media.
