For this 2-page spread, I combined the prompts "stamps" and "packaging".  But first, I pulled a pocket off of the left page. It's the last page of a center insert with 4 pockets. The first page was altered for the last prompt and I'm skipping the middle two (for now).  They're busy anyway, as I needed somewhere to stash the prompt list and scraps for collaging.

The page has stamping as part of the original decor, so I used it to anchor the collage that surrounds most of the page…

I used the prompts for July 9 (scraps) and July 10 (thread) for this 2-page spread. If you recall, I had clipped and folded the last page of the previous spread. It made a full-page pocket a little less bulky, but there was another reason for the theatrics.  There was pretty little decoration in the corner that didn't match the spread and I wanted to use it elsewhere. A year or so ago, a pre-made junk journal migrated into my stash.  It wasn't hideous, but it just wasn't my style. So... I…

I used the prompts for July 6-8 (wildlife, window, observe) for this 4-page spread that includes collage, a porthole-style window, a fold-out page, a tip-in, a small tuck spot, and a slanted pocket page (two pages glued together with a corner left free to fold and trim.  Flipping through the vintage field guides I have in my stash, there was a page on studying wildlife, so of course it had to go in the pocket!  My version of a specimen slide is tucked above it, behind a framed bird.

Day 5 prompt: Lettering

When I cut out mini tags and label frames from 4x6" masterboards, I save any usable scrap. I had one piece that was just the right size for framing different types of lettering. All-over stamping with archival ink and dots of metallic blue and pearl acrylic paint surround various Julys and event-themed lettering cut from vintage ephemera. The tag is topped with a cluster of vintage textiles. For extra strength and plenty of writing space, the card is fully…

Today's prompt for #JunkJournalJuly is "label".  I collaged and inlaid handmade labels and other bits on the removable journaling card. A fancy window pocket made from a junk mail envelope covers the entire page. I made the small label in the corner from a scrap of vintage calendar, drawing the "frame" with black ink and adding translucent birds and ferns (graphics I printed on vintage tracing paper).

Page spread for July 2-3

Prompts: postcard and fold

There's a lot going on between these to pages, with faux postcard and letter fold-outs and journaling space hidden under a page fold. The collage and bottom fold-out on the left page came from a vintage stamp catalog. I covered the catalog numbers and added a bit more interest with smaller stamp images.  The removable tag is made from #JunkJournalJuly printables from https://getmessyart.com/Junk-Journal-July and backed with…
