Nephrite Jade Oval Cabochon, Domed Oval 18x12.5x5.25mm 8.7ct

Nephrite jade oval cabochons are semi-translucent olive green cabs with flat bottoms and domed tops. Uncalibrated stones measure approximately 18x12.5mm These vintage stones from the 1990's or before were part of a large lot of salvaged semiprecious gems. They don't seem to have been used in settings, but I did feel a small nick or two along the bottom edge, probably from being banged about in long-term storage and mixed with other stones.

Nephrite is a naturally occurring mineral; color and inclusions vary from stone to stone. As these are not calibrated (or may have been cut by more than one lapidarist), stone dimensions vary slightly.
