Octagonal Cabochon, Dark Blue Sodalite 22.25x13.25mm, 15ct Semiprecious Gemstone

15ct dark blue sodalite octagonal cabochon measures approximately 22.25x13.25mm and 5.25mm thick. Opaque cab is flat and all edges are sharply defined. Front and sides are beautifully polished. The back is smooth, but unpolished. These vintage stones from the 1990's or before were hand cut and not calibrated. There are no exact color and size matches. Stone A is slightly darker with fewer patches of calcite. Stone B has obvious veins of calcite that give it a striped look.

I obtained these stones as part of a large lot of salvaged semiprecious gems. They may have small scratches/nicks where they were either removed from findings or banged about in long-term storage.
