The prompt for Day 13 of #JunkJournalJuly is "light". Aside from the large collaged tab along the right page, there was a lot of white with a barely there green floral. To let light in, so to speak, I cut a porthole in the right page, added a circle of acetate, and lined it with die cut rings I made from a page of my favorite vintage atlas (lots of lovely blues for the seas and oceans). As you can see in the progress shots, I also trimmed down the page tab so that it looks like three smaller tabs. Next. I collaged over all of the white space with pale shades of tissue. When I added a quote from Wordsworth in the center left (backed by hand painted paper), I almost called it done. However I remembered that I had a tattered page from a children's book in my stash that explained light. I cut out the title and terminology and backed them with either more of the painted paper (on the Wordsworth page) or atlas paper (on the porthole page). Peeking through the porthole is part of the spread from Day 13.
